SecureFutures, founded in 2006, is committed to equipping teens and young adults with vital money management skills, tools, and mentoring to achieve financial capability, reach their goals, and strengthen their communities.
Our Story
Now in our 20th year, SecureFutures is a leader in teen financial education, impacting the lives of more than 159,000 teens through our comprehensive programs. SecureFutures is 100% privately funded, providing programming at no cost to high schools and community-based organizations, thanks to dedicated volunteers and generous supporters.
Our Impact
SecureFutures’ programming focuses on high school juniors and seniors, at the age when they are most likely to be impacted by financial education. Teens are receiving paychecks, opening bank accounts, and creating budgets for the first time. They are also susceptible to mistakes involving credit and predatory practices. Studies show that teens with solid financial habits maintain better control of their own money throughout their lives.
Our Programs
Our comprehensive programs include Money Sense, which introduces teens and young adults to essential financial concepts like budgeting, banking, credit, and loans. Money Coach is our unique mentoring program, which focuses on supporting teens from historically marginalized and under-resourced communities, offering both group and personalized one-on-one coaching to prepare students for life after high school. Money Path is our cutting-edge, web-based application that seamlessly integrates academic and career planning with financial strategies, giving teens and young adults the confidence to create personalized plans and set a clear path toward lifelong career and financial success.
